The Power of Suggestion

Posted: August 11th, 2007 | Author: | Filed under: Before We had Kids! | 5 Comments »

Ever been going about your business having a perfectly fine day only to have someone declare-

“You’re in a bad mood today.” or “Smile!”

I can honestly say, telling me to “Smile!” is just going to piss me off. I don’t generally walk around with a huge grin shooting rainbows out of my ass all day long, that doesn’t mean I’m in a bad mood.

In case you were wondering.

I always get that from creepy folks (men, mostly – women sometimes at gay bars).

I usually don't smile in return.

One time I was particularly upset and said "Why?" – I don't remember the reply – except that it wasn't remarkable.

P.S. I used to live in CoMo! From 98 to 01.

Stephens College, actually – though I spent a lot of time at MU!

I worked with a girl who went to Stephens, photography was her major- Brooke something…she would have graduated around 2003 probably.

It's hard not to spend time at MU, it kind of takes over the whole town. Last time we were back I barely recognized the place.

BTW it's nice to meet you!
