Hooray for Ice Chips!

Posted: June 12th, 2008 | Author: | Filed under: Pregnancy | 2 Comments »

What a week.

I’m doubling my efforts at eating and drinking with some success this week. The eating is much more regular, although not that varied. Drinking still poses a problem for me. Ice chips go down surprisingly easy, and they are available all night long at work, so that’s a plus.

Paired with the Zofran I’m feeling better. Not 100%, but better for sure. Spicy seems to do the trick. Not sure why, but a bag of Hot and Spicy Archer Farms potato chips at just the right moment can stave off nausea for a few hours, what a plus!

Going into the weekend I’m feeling good, no trips to the MAC in the plans. A lot of rest and ice and watermelon and some serious Geology studying. Well, the last part is a bit of a headache, but what can you do?

We’re still trying to digest the news from last Friday- not sure it’s really going to sink in. It was weird enough trying to imagine one, two is just out of my league. It’ll be fun though. We’re still not going to find out genders- what’s one more surprise? I do think Baby B has a little something down there in the pic, but I’ve been told that it’s nothing. We’ll have to speculate…

Next appointment is on the 20th, I don’t think I get an ultrasound then, not until 20 weeks now. That seems like a long time now that we’ve had one. Once you peek you kind of want to have another peek. It’s crazy to see them flailing around in there- just bizarre.

Whaa?! This is what happens when I neglect my blog reading… TWINS??!! Wowee. If you lived closer, I’d give you my double snap ‘n go… (You need a double snap ‘n go. In fact, you need a lot of things.)
    No wonder you’re sick. Seriously.
Oh, but what fun!! My girls are absolutely delightful! (When they’re not pushing each other down, stealing each other’s pacifiers, and shrieking for a bigger piece of the lap.) No, really, they’re loads of fun.
    I’m very excited for you!!
    Do not be afraid.
Well, a little fear is reasonable.
Truth be told (and here I go on and on), I was not so delighted when I heard about our double load. We had to get a minivan!! Not to mention a new house. Two bedrooms didn’t seem enough for five kids.
    But it all works out.

Minivan- oh no, I can’t even think about a minivan! We will have to get a bigger place though. Thankfully the grandma’s are in full out shopping mode and already on the lookout for strollers and all the “big” stuff. My mom is convinced I’ve got two girls in here…growing up with two sisters I am afraid to have girls. It can’t be as bad as I imagine- right!?
