Question of the week.

This weeks question from the Multiples and More Blog:

What is the biggest lesson that you have learned in your multiples’ first year of life?

Well in the (almost) nine short months we’ve had them I’d have to say planning just goes out the window some days and you need to just go with the flow. Things seem to fall apart around here as soon as we *THINK* we are on a schedule- so now I just try and be flexible.

There are things I do keep, like their naps- they have a long one early in the day and a long one in the afternoon- if the afternoon nap doesn’t happen it’s a pretty bad night getting them to bed because they’ll crash out for a power nap (15-30 minutes) right after dinner and then they’ll be up for HOURS. I don’t keep strict times for these naps, but it’s pretty much 2-3 hours for each, usually right after breakfast and around 3 or 4 in the afternoon.

How in the world do you get your babies to take 2-3 hour naps?!? That's AWESOME!

It just kind of happens. They used to get up-eat- 2 hour nap-get up-eat-back down for a 1 hour nap and then have the later afternoon nap. They have eliminated the 2nd morning nap which is fine. It was really nice while it lasted though.

What sweeties you have! I've always wondered…does having twice the babies mean you get half the sleep? I can't imagine! You need some kind of award or something! I always said I wanted twins, but now that I have one, I can't imagine! But you do have twice the love, right?

Twice the love of course! Not sure on the sleep thing. I work nights so I get about 5 hours a day (if that) Thursdays I get what I can while they nap- it would be the same with one. It really depends on how much time I spend with them when I get home- some days I just can't make myself go to sleep they are so cute and bright eyed in the morning.

My husband might disagree on the sleep- if it's a good night- it's a VERY good night and he gets some good sleep. On a bad night, it can be a very bad night.
