Well, we did it!
We went to the Irish Fair in St. Paul and thankfully the weather held up. I was really glad we went- tons of families were there for the show with their kids. I still can’t believe the number of kids running around in Dropkick Murphy’s tees and little mohawks! It was really fun, just to see the punk crowd and all that brings.
We headed out around 6 and were pleasantly surprised to get parking in a lot just across from the entrance so we didn’t have to trek very far just to get in.
We spent a little time watching the girls doing the traditional Irish dancing- Lincoln and Wyatt both enjoyed this. We had a little traditional Irish fare- Fish and chips with vinegar and Guinness. Then we headed over to the main stage and got ready for the big show.
We stayed pretty far back and I won’t lie- we couldn’t see the stage at all! But we could definitely hear it and we weren’t disappointed. Both boys had a great time people watching from their carriers and when the music started Lincoln got really excited.
I tried to get video but he’d clam up whenever the camera came near, so it’s not the full effect. Please ignore the annoying voice.
We left around 9:30 and soon as we strapped the boys into their car seats it started to rain- perfect timing! We were home by 10 and the boys were in bed shortly after that. So far they haven’t been any worse for wear but we’ll see what the day brings.
John’s favorite thing was when Mayor Chris Coleman introduced the band as Dropkick MURPHY…and then said he wasn’t going to chug his drink when they toasted…
