I don’t remember the last time I was actually awake to ring in the new year- it was long before I had kids I know that! Last night was no different. We had Granite City take-out at my IL’s hotel room and I crashed soon after. I was asleep before the boys were. Weird.
This year is being rung in with a of couple monster colds and a Criminal Minds marathon. Sounds pretty normal to me. Mr. Wonderful is taking a nap, Lincoln is crashed out in his crib and Wyatt is sitting on my lap with a crusty yet runny nose. Such is life with sick boys in the house.
It’s funny to think that a decade ago I stood in Times Square with my great friends and rang in the New Year with champagne in plastic cups! Happily Y2K was nothing more than a paranoid theory and everything kept tick tick ticking along!
It’s been quite the decade, one that most people would be happy to forget. We’ve had our ups and downs but some pretty spectacular things have happened in this decade for our little family. Meeting and marrying my husband, moving back to Minnesota after 8 years in sweltering Missouri, moving to Minneapolis, finally (FINALLY!) getting my degree from MU, the birth of our boys.
This year we have lots of excitement planned. Well, a little excitement anyway!
