I have to say, it’s just what I wanted. Have I already said that? Oh well…it probably won’t be the last time. I love my boys, I really wanted another boy. A girl would have been fun to dress up, but good lord the drama that comes with girls- I’m happy to skip it.
So it would seem we’re pretty much set for a boy. There are a few things we do need to upgrade/ replace though.
The lovely Infant Seats we have? Never going to fit between the lovely Recaros I refuse to part with- so we need to get the narrowest Infant seat on the market:
Baby Trend Flex Loc. Which leads me to a swing- we have Graco swing frames for our Infant Seats…maybe I’ll just keep one of those set up to see if this baby even likes the swing (Lincoln and Wyatt weren’t huge fans). We also have the vibrating seat and the glider, so we may just skip the swing. Who knows.
The Moby wrap that I love so dearly when the babies are small and light? I need another wrap that’s not going to kill me when the baby hits 20 pounds: Ergo Baby Carrier. This will make it a bit easier to get around with all three (Lincoln and Wyatt in the stroller, baby in the wrap). Every sling/ wrap/ carrier Mom I know says the Ergo is the one to take you through toddlerhood.
Diapers…I love a new cloth diaper. We didn’t start the boys in cloth until they hit 4 months. I think I want to get a few One Size Diapers. Maybe some Bum Genius Organics? Maybe a few Good Mamas? Maybe some Gro Babies? We mostly use gDiapers and we have a ton once we hit the large size (Thank You Carrie for sending us your stash!) but I only have 2 mediums and nothing for a newborn so I’m thinking a few One Size diapers might be a good addition to the stash since we’ll be able to use them for all three kids. Gro Baby would probably be the way to go here- outer shell with pre-folds tends to be our speed.* Maybe I’ll look into wool… Lindsay? Did you say you were using wool covers?
I’m not taking the boys out of their cribs anytime soon- they can stay there until they are 5 if they have to. No, really- I like them contained. So, we’ll need another crib. I’ve always liked the style of the Jenny Lind and probably would have gone with that style for the boys, so now is my chance I guess. Man, it’s going to look like a daycare in here with three cribs. Insanity. I really do like my bedding though. It’s very newborn nursery so I’ll use that again, we’ve got plenty of bedding to go around.
I think that’s pretty much it. Not bad at all. Even if it were a girl it would be pretty much the same, with lots of pink and purple thrown in there for good measure. So now we have a few months to get on this list- and move (yes, we are still looking). It’s going to be an interesting summer!
* I broke down and made a little registry for diapers so I can keep track of what I need to buy password: BOY. I already ordered a few BG’s in X-Small with the awesome deal I found (Free BG AIO with $10 BG purchase!) hopefully this will get us started.
