If you ask me, he’s PERFECT.

I’ll get around to writing an actual birth story at some point here, but right now I’m pretty out of it.  After four days spent in a hospital room pretty much just me and a newborn it’s been an interesting transition to being at home.  Of course, all I want to do is love on my boys.  I’d be happy to sit on the couch and cuddle but they aren’t having it.  Other than the initial excitement to see me and the inspection of this new baby thing everyone has been talking about so much, they were ready to go back to their routine.

It’s different bringing home a baby for the second time.  Last time we got home and every move we made revolved around the boys.  This time we got home and I put him in his bed and we went on with the evening.  I unpacked my bags and put away gifts, he slept.  He woke up, I fed him and changed him, then he went back to sleep.  There is no wondering if we are doing the right thing, we just know what to do.  He fits right into our life and I like it.

The first few nights he was a great sleeper- we were able to sleep between 1am and 3am, then 3:30 and 7am no problem.  I can live with that.  Since then it’s been a cluster feeding party all day and all night, save for the 3 hour nap/ reprieve I got today.  I’m hoping his weight check tomorrow reveals a weight gain so I can stop worrying about improper latch and all the multitude of breastfeeding issues.  Because frankly, this kid is a champion nurser and I am not seeing any issues.

He’s 8 days old and I think we’ll keep him.

The 2nd time around is so much easier on everyone. You're more relaxed, but with twins it was very different also because of the feeding schedule. You had 2!!
And with Auntie Jenna there to pick up the slack, you have less to worry about. You're very lucky to have someone there every day.

    Love ya,
