Daylight Savings Time can suck it.

Last year we were prepared.  We put the boys to bed a little later each night for 2 weeks to get them used to the time change that was coming.  We had a smooth transition and the boys slept in like champs when the “fall-back” finally happened.

This year…I don’t know.  Maybe having two toddlers and a newborn has taken me so out of the loop with my Moms clubs, but I didn’t even think about what was going to happen today.  We had everyone up at 5:30.  Not only were they up earlier than normal (7am is pretty average for wake-up) but it was 5:30am!

Of course we weren’t ready to get up, but Yogi Dad did.  Actually, he was ready to get up at 4:30am to do Yoga.  Hence Yogi Dad.  He wasn’t ready to have helpers at such an early hour.

We tried an early nap, but they weren’t having that either.  Lots of squealing and jumping and finally screaming and crying, so out of their room they came.

Did I mention I work tonight and have to find time to sleep during all of this?  So far THAT is not happening either.

J the B has actually taken it in stride, he’s usually up to nurse sometime between 4 and 7 anyways so I guess it probably hasn’t messed with him AS much as the other boys.  Not sure how tonight is going to pan out.  I see boys falling sleep in their peanut noodles in my future.

How did you prepare for DST?  Am I the only one who longs for the days of gettingthat extra hour?  They don’t tell you that goes away when you have kids.

Actually, this would be preparing for Standard Time, or the end of DST.
