This is going to be a little all over the place.
My sister is coming today. Driving up from Kansas City with her husband as I type. They are already past Des Moines so they should be here sometime between 4 and 4:30. My house is in total chaos right now. Wy is sleeping and Lincoln is up- sharing my snacks and refusing to nap. And getting his big booty stuck in the Bumbo. Judah is, for the moment, full and happily playing on the floor.
I can’t concentrate to clean. I wish this house built in 1902 had more closets in which to shove the massive piles into. Seriously, if you came to my house now you’d find piles of birthday gifts, piles of clean diapers waiting to be folded, piles of mail, piles of Halloween costumes waiting to be washed and put away, laundry. It’s just a stack or two away from hoarders ya’ll! I suppose I’ll start with the little things and hope I can tackle the big things once reinforcements arrive (Grandma and Yogi Dad). Oh, and there is the pumping and the snacking and th……when does it end?
Did I mention we are having a night out tonight?
Yes. I’m supposed to gussy up and get out the door to have dinner at Erte. Erte. I can’t dress for Erte- that would require ironing. The black circles and bags under my eyes might need a little low lighting if we’re going to hide them. It’s a losing battle. Of course my most glam sister will be dining with us. Try and compete with a stylist and you are always going to lose. I’ll just enjoy the food, please ignore my “mom” clothes.
Well, that was a wasted 15 minutes.
At least Grandma is bringing dinner for the boys. One less thing to worry about.
