Autism Awareness Month: Day 1

It’s our first Autism Awareness Month having kids diagnosed with Autism.  I thought I’d try and share a glimpse of Autism as it is in our family, each day this month.  This is quite the undertaking!  I’m not known for uploading pictures in any sort of timely fashion (just ask my Mom).  We’ll see if I can keep up the pace of once a day posting.

I haven’t posted too much about our Autism adventure thus far.  In some ways it’s flying by, in other ways I can’t believe we are only 4 month into this.  I don’t know it it’s the newness or the fact that it’s really $%^&ing overwhelming, but I haven’t written a lot.  It’s surprising really.

So I’m jumping in.

One thing I’d love to see are some blue lights.  April 2nd is World Autism Day and one way to show your support is to Light it up Blueby changing your porch light blue.  This is an easy way to show some support to the families in your community that you stand together with them in their journey.

Having worked personally with kids who have autism, I'll dress in blue tomorrow even though it is a Kansas Jayhawk color. 😀
