Just another Minnesota Mom blog.

This book speaks to my (sleep-deprived) heart.

I admit it, I love the F word. In all of it’s various forms. It just gets to the point in a way that other words, well…don’t. I’m a salty language kind of girl. For better or worse.

I’ve seen this book floating around blogland for awhile now and I’ve always chuckled and thought “Now THAT’S a book I need to read.” Once I read it, I was even more enamored, because as a parent who’s twins didn’t sleep through the night until 14 months, these words crossed my mind more than once. I’m sure they crossed my husband’s practically every night as he battled through by himself while I was at work.

You know you've thought it before!

Some people have gotten a bit upset by this book and I just can’t wrap my head around why. I suppose yes, it seems harsh, but really….who is actually reading this TO their kids?  No one I know.  I think most people would agree, this book brings a little levity to the situation for the parents*. Because that’s who this is for.  Not the kids.

So, I was super excited to see that Samuel L. Jackson did the audio version (which is free for download through Audible) because I certainly can’t think of anyone better to read this little story.  I mean really, after Snakes on a Plane, I don’t think anyone can compete when it comes to the F word.

*I’m pretty sure laughing about the crappy situation is a helluva lot better than letting it all build up and, I don’t know…harming your baby? I’ll take laughing!
