On August 6th 2011, hundreds tens of bloggers. (OK, seven bloggers. Eight if you count Miss Harper Moo.) descended upon the Girl Scout Service Center in sleepy St. Paul Minnesota. We were not at BlogHer11, we were kickin it old school in a conference room of our own. Some of the bloggers had previously met IRL, some of them had been following the #MNSlumberParty11 hashtag on Twitter and just couldn’t go another year without joining in the fun.  For realz!

It was a fury of tweeting and chatting and following of #homeher11 and talking shop and talking kids and talking birth and who sees what midwife and on and on. There was non-Girl-Scouts-of-America sanctioned wine drinking. Out of official Girl Scout Mugs! (Don’t tell!) Lots of illicit chocolate eating, a high volume of hummus consumption, an impromptu Joia tasting and a rained out S’mores cookout.

No one had to look for a mic to ask a question. Most of the elevator pitches were ditched in favor of cooing over sweet Harper. Everyone was invited to the pizza party, once we found someone to deliver to our hidden locale. (Seriously, what is up St. Paul?!) There were some cathartic tears shed amongst friends, hearts were bared, everyone had their listening ears on.

You could come for a little while, or spend the night, there was a brunch the next day for people who couldn’t make it the night before.

It was pretty much everything I would want in a “conference”.  I’m glad I abandoned my cooking and cleaning efforts and traveled the 14 miles to get there.

If I hadn’t, I never would have spent such a wonderful night with these fine women:

Jo
Jaime
Veronica
Paula
Bonnie
Gretchen
and I guess we can’t leave out Miss Harper Moo, I mean she *was* the only one there with her own sponsor!

Thanks ladies, I had a blast.  Let’s all cross out fingers we get into #MNBlogCon this fall!

I'm still bummed that I had to cancel at the last minute. I'm so glad you girls had fun though! I have to say that had i not been in so much pain that i couldn't move i'd have been there with bells on… i even took my cpap out of storage so that my snoring wouldn't keep anyone (esp. Harper) awake!! But alas! We should do somethin this fall! Like a fall version of the Sleepover! I'll even open my home for the event! As long as there aren't a ton of people. Just a thought!! Much love and i'm so glad everyone had a good time…. although I heard Harper had some sleepy troubles… Anyhoo…. see y'all on Twitter @suzannah_mpls Suz
