Just another Minnesota Mom blog.

I love you. I hate you.

I am not a morning person. At all.

The boys now get on the bus earlier than we used to get up, so this has been a rough transition for me, to say the least.

After the boys go to bed every night it used to be a mad dash to get some clean-up done before we both had a little time to do “our” stuff- for Yogi Dad that meant yoga, for me that meant various blog related things. Most nights I would be up until well past 1am.

Thankfully Yogi Dad *is* a morning person, he gets up at like 4am to do more yoga and yoga-ish things. Because he’s up so early he gets up with the boys, changes their diapers, and feeds them breakfast. All before I even get out of bed. Before he heads out he pokes his head into our room and lets me know he’s headed out and then I stumble towards the coffee maker before I get the boys dressed for school.

It’s the perfect system.

Until last week.

When one night I went to bed at 10pm. And woke up at 6:30 ready to greet the day. Then I did it again and again and again.

And now I’m programmed to go to bed early and nothing is getting done on this here blog.

That kind of sucks for me. Getting up early does not translate to morning time for me- because all three boys are up and need tending to. I need child-free time.

So I’m trying to figure out how to convince my brain that the better thing to do would be to sit at the table and write instead of lay down in my bed and sleep. Or lay down in my bed and watch FX. My brain isn’t having it right now.

Stupid brain.

September is a transitional time….. for us all. We are struggling to figure it out over here, too! By the time we get our acts together, it'll be Christmas. 😉

I'm the same way. I need some child-free time, but I just have to go to bed early. Of course, this also means I get up really early too. That would also be fine if my son didn't get up at 6:30 with me. Hope it gets easier for you!

I am not ready for my kids to be in school. I am so not a morning person and not sure I will ever be. I agree that night time is me time and everyone needs that time. Hopefully you found some middle ground
