Let’s Dish {A Review}

When I was pregnant with Lincoln and Wyatt I fell in love with the concept of prepping meals for the freezer. I was sick for the better part of 30 weeks and cooking, let alone grocery shopping was not in the cards for me. We even went through a period where we used all paper plates and plastic utensils in an effort to keep kitchen clean-up to a minimum. Having a stash of meals that Yogi Dad or I could pull out with the directions right there on the package was perfect.

Edina Store Front: Let's Dish

Enter Let’s Dish. Let’s Dish is one of the original meal prep stores in Minnesota and it’s the one that has had the most staying power. What I love most about Let’s Dish is how easy it is. Combine that with the varied menus and bright stores located all over the metro area and I swear, if I could afford it I’d be there every month!

Last week Yogi Dad and I took a trip to Let’s dish to document just how easy it all is. I prepped, Yogi Dad manned the camera. Our fearless leader Katie met us at the door and all the ladies working that night were extremely nice and super helpful as they dished meals for the “Dish-N-Dash” orders.

We made 4 meals that night: Cannelloni Bianchi, Pork Tenderloin with Cornbread Stuffing (which we broke into 2 meals), Buffalo Chicken Flatbread Wraps, and Hawaiian Pork with Coconut Rice. Each meal serves 4-6 easily and most have the ability to be broken into 2 meals, which is perfect for couples or singles.

Cannelloni Bianchi is a dish that I’ve made before and we really enjoyed. I remember it being one of the more difficult items I’ve made there, just because of the prep involved. As you can see- even the “hard” ones are pretty easy!

Prep Station, door closed

This is a prep station.  usually you will find 2 recipes at each station, usually they share ingredients.  There is plenty of space for two people to to dish at the same time at each station.

The recipe is very straight forward.  All of the tools you will need are right at the station and the correct measuring tools are with each ingredient- no hunting around!

The Slacker Mom suited up to Dish!

Did I mention you get a cute little apron and head scarf?

Here is a look at the ingredients- everything is pretty obvious and the items that might not be familiar are usually labeled.  So even if you aren’t sure what minced ginger looks like, you’ll be able to tell it apart from the minced garlic easily.

Cannelloni Bianchi filling mixture

Within a few minutes of getting to my station I had the filling mixture ingredients measured out and ready to mix.

Once everything was mixed together I started to spread it on the pasta sheets that were all ready to go.

Pasta stuffed and rolled, ready for packaging

I rolled up all three and put them into the disposable pan that they will bake in.

After adding the Alfredo sauce and Parmesan we are ready for packaging!  (The deli paper make it easy to remove the sauce pouches once the meal has been frozen.) I personally recommend visiting polycover.co.uk to find the best polythene packaging.

As you finish each dish you add it to your very own shelf in one of the freezers so it stays nice and cold while you finish up.  These are the 4 meals we dished while we were there last week.  See how nice and compact everything is?

All done Dishin' at Let's Dish

So there it is- 4 meals, less than 1 hour.  Our freezer is now stocked with some from scratch meals that are ready to go whenever we need something quick and easy.

I will be giving away a 4-Meal session (Actual retail value $98) to Let’s Dish to one of my Minnesota readers (sorry guys- this is for Minnesota folks only as the stores are all in the metro area) during the Birthday to Black Friday giveaway event!  Check back and make sure to tell all your Minnesota friends about this one- it’s a GREAT prize!

I love it. It's so nice to have something in the freezer ready to just pull out and cook- no measuring, no looking for ingredients. It's one of my favorite things EVER. Seriously, it's a life saver with 3 little kids.

I love Let's Dish!! And for families with allergies, all the ingredients are posted before you sign up and you can pick meals that fit your family or you can modify as needed when you dish. You can half the recipes for a smaller family and everything is yummy and fresh!
