Thursday is Thanksgiving. I have done nothing to prepare for this holiday other than decide what pie I will bring to which event. And even that is up in the air now that I remember the awesome hard sauce I nabbed from P-dub last year and neither of the pies I have chosen really *go* with hard sauce. Maybe I can just bring hard sauce. Maybe I’ll have to make apple pie after all. I am not a big fan of apple pie. Unless it’s absolutely drowning in hard sauce.
I am sick. I am really terrible at being sick. All of the other mothers always talk about how they manage the house and keep everyone going while they are sick, but me? Not so much. I really do feel terrible. This isn’t just a sniffle and it usually only happens once a year but man, I am so grateful to have a husband who just picks up the slack.
Did I mention I my husband is wonderful? He is.
Did I mention he got up this morning with all 3 boys at 4:41 and then did the dishes, went to get the paper a shovel and lawn bags, proceeded to rake the yard one last time before the snow started to fly and then made a run to Target? All while I was huddled on the couch with a cup of tea barely moving? And now! Now that the boys have had lunch and are down for a nap (I did lunch- he changed diapers) he’s folding clothes!
I would like to think this is the norm out there but I know this is not. I’m a lucky girl.
Black Friday. I am not a fan. I can’t think of any reason to brave crowds on that day when I don’t usually brave crowds any other day of the year. I did think about going to IKEA for about 53 seconds but then I realized $5 off wasn’t good enough to get me through the doors for an easel.
We leave for vacation in less than a month! I can hardly wait but man, there is a lot to do before now and then. I suppose it all gets done in the 11th hour anyway, right?
I have 7 giveaways that are LIVE! Right! Now! Go and enter them and pass them along to your friends to enter- seriously good stuff here folks.
Which brings me to my totally insane idea of doing an entire month of cloth diaper giveaways. Thankfully I’ve enlisted some trusty cloth diaper mamas to join me because I am sure there will be days when I want to pull my hair out- that is a LOT of giveaways! It’s a good thing I have so many little butts running around here that need cloth diapers.
OK, time to head back to the couch. I’ll try and limit my time spent watching Food Network or The Cooking Channel. That’ll just muddy the waters even more.
*I actually used to call him “Mr. Wonderful” when I blogged but he’s so darn humble he asked to go by Yogi Dad instead.
