I’ve mentioned our old tub before. The clawfoot tub that was the one redeeming feature of our old place. I loved that tub. There is nothing more soothing after a long week (or day) than a nice long, hot soak in a deep tub.
Of course that lovely specimen of a tub resided in probably the ugliest bathroom known to man, but it didn’t matter. That clawfoot tub was pure heaven.
Yogi Dad and I have talked it over. One day, we will have a lovely soaking tub. It doesn’t need to be a clawfoot tub (although that would be ideal) it doesn’t need any fancy jets or be made of copper or be super fancy. It just needs to be nice and deep with room to stretch out your legs.
I can get lost looking at modern showers and bathtubs. If kitchens were the piece de resistance of the 90’s, bathrooms are the it room of the house now.
Fancy vessel basins sitting atop modern bathroom vanities. Showers replete with multiple shower heads which only function is to melt away the stress of a long day.
I like living in a world where it is not uncommon to find a spa-worthy bathroom in most homes that have been recently remodeled (and probably every new home on the market).
Yes, I like a nice tub.
Over the years I’ve realized there are two kinds of people- those who like to take baths, and those who do not. Are you a bath person? What is your dream tub? (This is mine)
