Cloth diaper giveaway event!

Welcome to day number nine of 30 Days of Dipes! Today is sponsored by:

30 Days of Dipes GroVia

Today I am featuring GroVia and their Hybrid AI2 and will be giving away a Grovia AIO in Cloud!  Be sure to check out The Gnome’s mom and her GroVia review and giveaway!

The Dirty Details:

The very first cloth diapers we ever used, and the bulk of our stash, are AI2’s or Hybrids.  I am very comfortable with this kind of system and actually love hybrids above all other diapers because of their versatility.

Day Use: 4.0Bums Up

Overnight Use: 3.0 Bums Up

Ease of Use: 4.5 Bums Up

Quality: 4.5 Bums Up

Overall: 4.0 Bums Up

Daytime Use: The GroVia AI2 is a great diaper for daytime use.  The Stay Dry Soakers easily snap in and out to change, the only reason you would need to change the shell is if it’s soiled.  I can usually get through most of the day with just one shell by using either the soakers or laying a tri-folded pre-fold inside.  This diaper is trim and has no issues fitting under the boys clothes.

Overnight Use: The soaker alone did not get us through the night and I did not have a chance to try the Stay Dry Booster to see if that made a difference.

Ease of Use: This diaper really couldn’t be easier.  There are no adjustments that need to be made, there is plenty of room and even an overlap when I fasten the diaper closed so I know it will grow with the boys for quite some time.  It’s easy to change the soaker out when needed.  The shell comes in either snaps or hook and loop so you can choose whatever is your favorite form of closure.

Quality: I find this to be a high quality diaper that I imagine will last for quite awhile.  There is nothing to stuff, the snaps are great, the soakers are sturdy, the mesh inside is heavy duty and doesn’t seem like it would snap on anything.

Grovia Hybrid AI2

Overall: What can I say, I love this diaper!  I like that I can snap in a soaker or lay in a pre-fold if the soakers all need to be washed (or if I need some extra oomph), I like that they have a disposable BioSoaker for when you need something for travel or daycare or when you just don’t want to tote around a wetbag.  I actually used the BioSoakers on a trip this summer and they worked really well.  For me, hybrids are the perfect diaper for starting out because they offer so many options and you simply get more bang for your buck.  Buy a few shells and a dozen pre-folds and you are in business.

I also love these diapers! After using them a while I had two complaints-1) the insert’s dry time is significantly longer than other diapers (trick: turn them inside out in dryer & hang on rack that way). And 2) my son has a super sensitive bum. Bc of the hemp, he started to react! I found putting a bummis fleece liner in fixed this. We recently got to try the new stay dry insert and it is GREAT! Fixes both of my complaints. Highly recommend it!

My first cloth diaper was a newborn size Kissaluvs fitted diaper on my newborn – they're still my favorite newborn diaper!! With the fitted diaper we used a Bummis Super Whisper Wrap – which never fit right – we prefer snapping covers with gussets.

I have not tried a cloth diaper yet but am trying to start my stash for my baby due in August!

My very first CD was actually a simple birdseye cotton prefold (Gerber) and a homemade cover! (one our 4 day old…) They were ok for a NB… we quickly found Kissaluvs fitteds for NB which we LOVED. 🙂
