Cloth diaper giveaway event!

Welcome to day number 11 of 30 Days of Dipes! Today is sponsored by:

30 Days of Dipes Pooters

Today I am featuring Pooters and their Bamboo Fitted diaper!  Be sure to check out The Gnome’s Mom and her Pooters Newborn Fitted review and then head on over to Life With Levi and see what she has to say about the Pooters Hemp Fitted!

The Dirty Details:

Day Use: 4.0Bums Up

Overnight Use: 3.0 Bums Up

Ease of Use: 3.0 Bums Up

Quality: 4.0 Bums Up

Overall: 3.5 Bums Up

Daytime Use: I’m a fan of fitted diapers and this was no exception.  The snap-in soaker and lay-in booster provided enough absorbency to get us through daytime diaper changes with ease.

Overnight Use: I feel like I have to keep saying this but I’ll say it again- we have extremely heavy wetters, it’s nearly impossible to get a nighttime diaper that works just right for our boys.  This did an OK job with the soaker and the booster but we still had soggy pajama pants in the morning when used with a PUL cover.  I didn’t try it with our fleece cover and now I’m wondering if that would have made a difference, leak-wise.  My other issue with fitteds (and this is most fitteds in general) at night is the boys are not fond of being wet and with no stay-dry aspect to the diaper, everything feels wet so we did have some restlessness that got us out of bed to change the diaper in the wee hours of the morning- not my favorite thing to do.

Ease of Use: This diaper is actually fairly easy once I figured out what snaps went with what.  It took quite a few looks at the website to figure it out though.  The insert snaps into the front of the diaper which gives you great protection up front where you need it, the only issue we had was when we folded the soaker forward to double it up (and cover the snaps) the back part ended up getting squished down by their bums and then it was a weird clunky mess.  When we added the booster and didn’t fold everything down so far things stayed in place better, but it took some tweaking and getting used to.  I also needed to tuck in around the legs every once in awhile as this didn’t fit super well under all of our covers, it seems to be cut a little lower around the thighs- the Flip cover seemed to pose the biggest problem but the Thirsties Duo Wrap worked great!

Quality: I don’t have a lot of bamboo in my stash and I am always blown away by the softness of it.  There are 6 layers of to provide extra absorbency without the soaker or booster- more than you will usually find in a fitted.  This diaper also has a little bit of stretch so I can get a great fit on the boys which is important, the snaps seem to be in just the right place.

30 Days of Dipes Pooter Bamboo Fitted

Overall: For $12, you really can’t beat this fitted.  It’s soft organic bamboo.  The top folds down so you can use it on a newborn and smaller infants as easily as you can with a toddler.  You get all of the benefits of a fitted at a fraction of the cost- did I mention it’s $12?! Like any diaper, there is a bit of a learning curve, but if you are wanting to try fitteds or are looking to get away from microfiber- I’d give this a try!  This will definitely stay in my fitteds stash for a long time.

Pooters is giving away a fitted diaper of the winner’s choice (Bamboo, Hemp or Newborn) to one of you!

I could take or leave fitteds, but my wife prefers them over pocket diapers any day!

Fitteds are challenging for moms of toddlers because they are a 2 step process

I would like to try the pooters hemp OS fitted because my son is a heavy wetter and right now sposies are the only thing working for us at the moment. I haven't tried fitteds at all and would love the opportunity.
