I’m pretty sure I have mentioned it before- I am so not a girlie girl. I leave that to my sisters. I have never been one to primp and preen and if it’s taking me longer than 30 minutes to get ready for a night out- you might want to check and make sure I am still breathing because I am about as wash and go as you can get.
But, I still fall prey to all the pretty little things. Drawers full of high pigment eyeshadows (that I don’t know how to properly apply). An uncounted number of red lipstick tubes (because in my mind I can pull off red lipstick) even though I never wear anything other than gloss. Bins full of hair accessories (when the only thing I ever use is a ponytail holder).
And then there is the jewelry.
Accessories are my arch enemy. I wear three things on a daily basis. My engagement ring, my wedding ring, and my nose stud. That’s it.
I buy jewelry when I need something specific, but I don’t ever wear it more than once. I don’t like noisy, fidgety things hanging off of me and vintag-y things like this cuff from Bottica Jewelry (no matter how much I love it) I just couldn’t pull off.
I suppose I need to add that to my list of things to do in the Year of Erin- figure out how to accessorize without feeling like a train wreck! I don’t know why I make it so hard. Shopping for women’s bracelets shouldn’t be intimidating. I mean you can always take it off if you aren’t feeling it…right?
One of these days I am going to pull it together!
