Boba Baby Carrier {A Review and Giveaway}

I have always been intrigued with baby-wearing, but do find that I still have a lot to learn when it comes to the ins and outs of the different types of carriers, wraps and slings.

With the twins we had a Moby wrap and a Baby Bjorn. I loved the Moby when they were small, but as they grew it wasn’t the first thing I was reaching for. I loved the soft structured carrier concept, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the Baby Bjorn. With Judah I again used the Moby in the early months, but upgraded to an Ergo for once he hit that 20 pound mark and although I love it, as he grows bigger, it is losing it’s luster.

Enter the Boba Baby Carrier.

My favorite thing about the Boba Baby Carrier is that compared to other soft structured carriers, it comes up pretty high (2-3 inches higher). I don’t feel like Judah could arch his back and pop himself out if he wanted to,  like I have with other carriers. And at some point on every long walk, he wants to. With the Boba he is left with trying to hoist himself up by pulling on my shoulders and climbing up me with his legs. He can try, but it’s not going to happen.  The Boba Baby Carrier is very secure.

Bobo in the Boba

(*We do tuck both of his arms in, I just don’t have any pictures of them both tucked and Yogi Dad has a limited attention span for product photography so I kind of get what I get.  Please remember to keep both arms tucked under the shoulder straps!)

The other thing I like about the Boba Baby Carrier is that the weight is not on my shoulders. If you’ve ever worn a baby for any length of time, you know that it can really wreck havoc on your back and shoulders. With the Boba Baby Carrier, the weight is mostly distributed around your waist.

The other day we took an impromptu walk down to one of the lakes. I had only had Judah in the Boba Baby Carrier a few times and only for short periods of time at this point but the thought of putting him in a double stroller wasn’t that appealing to me. Onto my back he went.

We hiked up and down hills for a good 60 minutes and although my legs were feeling it and he was ready to get down and play, my back and shoulders felt fine.

After we stopped to play at a park, Yogi Dad put one of the twins in the Boba Baby Carrier so Judah could ride in the wagon and off we went. The Boba Baby Carrier was easily adjustable and within minutes, Wyatt was happy as a clam, riding high on his Dad’s back. I don’t even remember the last time the twins (age 3) were worn so it was a treat to know they were easily wrangled.

I still feel like I am figuring this carrier out. Each time I look at it I find another zippered pocket or something else that adjusts that I hadn’t noticed before. there are even little pockets to rest their feet in (I keep forgetting they are there though and haven’t used them yet).  The Boba Baby Carrier comes in really cute patterns- I chose the Soho pattern since almost every  piece of gear I have is neutral or boyish and I kind of love pink so it was a no-brainer.  I love it!  I haven’t found a thing I don’t like about this carrier and I look forward to using it on a newborn (no newborn insert required!) one day.

So, do you want to win your very own Boba Baby Carrier?  Check out this fantastic giveaway sponsored by Boba– three prizes: a Boba Baby Carrier, a Boba Pack and a Boba Wrap will go to 3 lucky winners!

    I blame it on Isaac's birthday and Minnesota winters limiting our use of carriers, but he wanted nothing to do with carriers! We have the Boba and I'm trying my darnedest to make Ezra a baby wearing baby!

    Honestly, my Ergo works fine. But Melissa's Boba is SO much better! Maybe I'll upgrade one day. 😉
