Today was the Great Cloth Diaper Change and tomorrow is Earth Day so what better way to celebrate than with a couple more giveaways?!
One of the diapers that I had been wanting to try for quite awhile, was Charlie Banana. I know you can now find them in some Target stores (check out the endcaps in the Infants department) but I first fell in love when I was seeing the brightly colored 6-packs all over the internet. I’m a sucker for brightly colored diapers and if you show me a whole rainbow packaged up together, I’m going to want to try them out!
Day Use: 5.0Bums Up
Overnight Use: 3.0 Bums Up
Ease of Use: 3.0 Bums Up
Quality: 4.0 Bums Up
Overall: 3.75 Bums Up
Daytime Use: The Charlie Banana sized pocket diaper is a great diaper for daytime. It’s a little bulky if you use both inserts, but it is fairly narrow so it is still pretty trim. If you only need to use one insert this is about as trim as it gets for a pocket diaper.
Overnight Use: This isn’t enough for us overnight, but that really is not a surprise. Most pockets- even double stuffed, are not enough. But, if you aren’t dealing with a super heavy wetter and have good luck with pockets overnight, you will probably have success with this diaper overnight.
Ease of Use: This is a pretty easy diaper to use. It is a one-size diaper but there are no rise adjustments. Instead there is leg elastic that is easily adjusted like a bra strap. There are 3 snaps on each tab with a crossover tab for the skinny minis. My biggest beef with this diaper is that it is difficult to stuff. It’s really narrow in the crotch and there is not a lot of room to get your hand in there- especially if you are using both inserts. (I would compare it to a Fuzzibunz OS.) I have fairly small hands so I imagine if Dad is in charge of stuffing the pockets this would be a total turn off.
Quality: I think this is a fairly good quality diaper. The inner fabric is super soft- something that has held up to washing over the course of the last 3 months. There is a generous flap covering the opening so there is no chance a microfiber insert will be touching delicate skin. Charlie Banana has also teamed up with designer Matthew Langille to bring some funky prints!
Overall: I like this diaper (save the difficulty while stuffing the pocket) and am hoping that we can keep it in our stash for awhile longer (we are currently on size medium). For a daytime diaper this is at the top of my list.
Charlie Banana is giving away a OS Pocket diaper to one of my readers!
