I always thought I would be the mom who made all the boys food from scratch, nothing processed, everything balanced and full of nutrients.  And I did that when they first started eating solids.  In the past year or two that has fallen apart.

Not only are they not getting all scratch-made meals three times a day, they are getting typical easy to make kid foods.  And if I’m being honest- 3 out of 5 days a week they are getting macaroni and cheese and hot dogs for lunch.  I never thought I would be here- I still can’t believe it.  I certainly didn’t set out to cater to them, but as their teacher has said- I need to pick my battles.  If they are only going to eat macaroni and cheese (or eat nothing*),  I’m going to make macaroni and cheese.

But, it still makes me crazy!  They eat well at school and we’ve kind of eliminated sensory issues related to food (we’re on a wait-list for a feeding clinic to delve further).  In the meantime I am on a quest to find new exciting things that they will eat.

Enter Farm Rich.

Farm Rich was on my radar from my days working overnights at Target when we had a nice appetizer spread one night and the Farm Rich Mozzarella Bites were served.  I’m usually not a fan of the breaded mozzarella sticks but these were different.  instead of a crunchy bread crumb coating it was like little nuggets of pizza dough stuffed with cheese.  My mind was blown and they will forever be a Saturday movie night appetizer stand-by.

Now, I wasn’t about to feed my boys mozzarella sticks for lunch, but the Homestyle Meatballs did catch my eye.  They like hamburgers, I figured I could convince them they were mini hamburgers.  They were small enough to be enticing to kids,  and they could be dipped!  Oh how the boys love to dip.  What kid doesn’t?

As it turns out- the meatballs (and cheese ravioli) lunch combo has been a hit!  I now have a grand total of THREE kid-approved lunches on the rotation.  I call that a win.

What is your kids favorite lunch?

Check back on Monday for a Fun Foods giveaway on my Current Giveaways page!

*And they will literally eat nothing- this isn’t a they will eat when they are hungry situation, they will go meal after meal without eating if they don’t like it.

I like the idea of meatballs! I think Owen would LOVE that!

We just moved to MiBeach, and we know….nobody. Any ideas for meeting other mamas that won't drop their jaw at me breastfeeding and wearing my toddler? (who also may wear cloth diapers…as if I needed to be more of an alien right now)
