Glasses USA {A Review}

A few months ago I finally (Finally!) found a local eye doctor and got my eyes checked. He’s kind of the eye doctor to the blogging stars here in the Twin Cities. Not that I consider myself a “star” or anything like that, just, you know…he takes care of many sets of eyes that are tap tap tapping away in the wee hours of the morning. He was pretty awesome.

But I digress.

I got my eyes checked and low and behold, they weren’t nearly as bad as I thought they would be after almost 7 years of not having them checked. I suppose only 5 of those years were actually overdue, but still. I was long overdue for a new prescription glasses.

I picked out a pair that I absolutely adore. They also happen to be the exact same shape as my previous pair. Apparently I have an eye for what looks good on me and I don’t stray too far.

Recently, the opportunity arose to review GlassesUSA.com and see how their frames stacked up. Of course I jumped on it! After going 7 years in the same frames, who wouldn’t want to add another pair to the rotation?

I have been loving everyone in white frames lately, so I picked the whitest frames I could find that were closest to a shape I know looks good on me, and I ordered those frames. What can I say, I’m not an accessories kind of girl. I wasn’t looking for something stylish out of a magazine or something super different from what I already wear. Just something white. White is kind of funky on it’s own.

They do have the virtual mirror feature where you can upload a photo and check out how they will look on you before you choose but I never actually did that.  All my photos already have glasses in them and it didn’t occur to me in the moment to take a quick pic with my phone and upload it.

When I was checking out I noticed I could order a second pair of the same glasses with tinted lenses so I could have sunglasses, minus the lens upgrade fee if I had ordered them on their own. I haven’t worn prescription sunglasses in…well, ever and I figured this was a pretty economical way to start.

So, I ordered 2 pairs for roughly the price I paid for the pair I just got through my eye doctor. Now I had to cross my fingers that they actually looked good when they got here!

They arrived the day before we left on our vacation to Kansas city and I was really glad to have them, especially the sunglasses. We were going to be spending a lot of time outside and I’ve started to notice little wrinkles around my eyes from when I squint in the sun. I not vain in any sense of the word, but if I can stop that from getting any worse, I would be OK with that!

First off- these eyeglasses are WHITE. Whiter than they looked in the pictures on the website. And I was looking for white, but the description was something along the lines of “clear and white” so I expected a little softness to them.

They are *almost* the same shape as my current glasses, minus one little detail- my glasses go up just a little at the ends and these ones have a gentle curve. The first thing I noticed when I put them on was how much they emphasize my eyebrows. My eyebrows which I haven’t had waxed since Judah was like a month old. (What can I say…I’ve got lots going on here!)

Yogi Dad says he likes them better than my other glasses, I am still on the fence. Maybe after I get my eyebrows done at https://blissfulbrowsandlashes.com/ a Microblading Los Angeles I will feel differently!

I thought it was going to be difficult getting my prescription from my doctor, but that wasn’t a problem at all. I do notice that they don’t seem exactly like my other glasses though. I get a slight headache immediately upon putting them on that goes away after a few minutes, not sure why since they should both have the same prescription.

    I do get my eyeglasses (and sunnies) online, but through zennioptical.com. I've found their frames and lenses are almost identical to what I can order from my eye doc, and come at about 1/10th of the cost, so I don't feel bad about getting some funky ones, weird sunglass tint shades, anti-glare, etc. It's a cool site!

    I find those glasses simple yet very pretty. I had my 2nd glass for about 5 years now and I think I might consider buying a new one at
    discount designer sunglasses store. I heard they offer sun glasses in a affordable prices.

    GlassesUSA is a terrible, dishonest company that you should not endorse. I bought a pair that did not fit but there is no facility to return them despite claims of 100% money back guarantee. Just try contact them regarding returns, no email response for months, no one answers phones. Moreover they say in the fine print that only a maximum of 80% will be refunded due to refitting despite plastering 100% money back guarantee all over the site. I have had a horrible experience; just search GlassesUSA returns reviews and you'll see there are many people who've had the same disaster.
